SIL-30

APPLICATION

SIL-30 DC is a colloidal suspension of very pure silica. This product is used in combination with other fining agents to improve clarification and to produce compact sediments. It is primarily used with Sologel DC in juice and wine clarification. It binds with the gelatine producing an intense floc which results in rapid clarification leaving little sediment.

COMPOSITION

Pure stabilised silica sol (30%). It's an opaque liquid with pH close to 10.

DOSAGE AND USE

SIL-30 DC must be followed by high quality enologycal gelatine: Sologel DC has been created specifically for SIL-30 DC. The product must be added directly to the juice at rates of 500-1000 ppm (50-100 ml/hl). The normal rate for juice or wine is 500-700 ppm (50-70 ml/hl). Higher rates are needed in case of severe cloudiness or when experiencing difficult clarification. After mixing SIL-30 DC well in the tank, the Sologel DC is added. Laboratory trials should be carried out to assess the precise combination of SIL-30 DC and Sologel DC to use in the winery. The results will be achieved after 15 minutes.
